Ten Shillings - 10 Bob - 10/-

Today i got a 10/- charm, a little silver box with break glass incase of emergncy inscribed on top and a ten shilling note folded up so all you can see is the number 10 showing through the glass. I'm sure my aunt Margaret had one of these in the late 60's early 70's.

It reminded me of an incident when I was young. Someone came to visit - my grandad maybe and gave me 10 bob. I recall feeling that i was rich! And it wasn't even my birthday. I took it round the corner to Donald's Cafe (Saltcoats) and I went to the big counter to be served - not the little sweet counter. I remember just holding it and looking at it and not wanting to part with it. I was even considering not buying anything because it was such an amazing thing to have my vry own 10 bob. I have no idea what age I must have been, but the 10/- note was withdrawn in 1971 so i must have been under 10. It is quite a vivid memory which i had forgotten until this morning.

Purple Human Hair

extension pieces on clips. 6 of them. Why? Dunno - seemed blike a good idea at the time. They are too straight ,and long to fit in with my hair. If i weren't so boring I would have real streaks this colour instead of the boring blond streaks i've got.

You are bidding on...A LOCK OF MY LUSCIOUS, BEAUTIFUL, GINGER HAIR.
That's right! Though some philistines may have you believe that ginger hair is a mere myth and exists only in the fantasies of crazy men, this is a geniune lock of such hair, plucked from my very own head!

still silver

Todays ebay purchases received: 5 lovely sterling silver pendants. a celtic circle, a rennie mackintosh type drop, a cross that was damaged, a heart, and another one i can't remember!
Put the celtic drop on a purple leather thong - looks good but i might buy a chain i think. I did buy these as charms but they are all too big really.

charms galore

a butterfly, a cycle with moving wheels, a map of scotland, a viking ship, a handbag, another spaniel, a poodle, a bracelet with 4 australian charms attached. There should have been a baby's rattle too but it was missing. Put the viking ship, the handbag and the poodle in A's box. Ordered some of those mini key ring rings to attach them since i lost my 21 key already. Ebay statistics tell me i've spent £811 in the last 60 days - I can't have cos I dont have that much spare money!

Post-parcel euphoria quickly drops!

My Pram arrived! I quickly got down to ripping off all the brown packing tape and bubblewrap to reveal a not so sparkling, fairly dusty, musty smelling, brown silver cross dolls pram. Oh for the highly laquered hard bodied prams of an earlier decade (50's not 60's). But be grateful for small acheivements!
Also received today a cocker spaniel silver charm (yes another) for my bracelet.
Yesterday there was NO POST! None at all - no bumf, no bills, no ebay parcels NOTHING. Very unusual.
